Question
Why does an iceberg float on water?

Answer

The density of the iceberg is less than the density of water due to which the buoyancy force of water equal to the volume of the iceberg exceeds the weight of the iceberg and the iceberg remains floating on water. While floating, only that much volume of the iceberg sinks in water, which is equal to the weight of the water displaced by the volume.
