Question
Why does the poet say it is not easy to kill tree?
✓
Answer
Gieve patel has in his poem ‘on killing a Tree’ told us about the difficulties in cutting a grown up Tree and the agony it suffers.
It takes a long time to ‘ill a tree as a simple thrust of a knife will not kill it because it has grown slowly feeding on the earth’s crust “absorbing nutrients from it.
The earth anchors its roots.
If one hacks and chops it, the bleeding bark will heal in time.
Twigs and boughs will grow from its rough and decayed like bark and the tree will get back to its former size.
Only if the roots are pulled out and withered, the tree will die so it is not easy to kill a tree.
