Question
Why has the rain used the word ‘impalpable’ for itself?
✓
Answer
Walt Whitman translates the message of rain in his poem ‘The voice of the rain’. The rain calls itself impalpable as it is quite vague to explain how the water eternally rises from the water bodies in the form of water vapor which is intangible and cannot be seen.
It forms clouds and comes down as rain. Though we can see the rain, the process by which it is formed is hard for human beings to comprehend. Therefore the word ‘impalpable’ has been used.
