Question
Write a short note on James Mill.

Answer

James Mill was a Scottish economist and political philosopher who wrote the book A History of British India in 1817. He divided Indian history into three periods – Hindu, Muslim, and British – and believed that Indian society was uncivilized before British rule. His writings reflected a Eurocentric view and were used to justify British colonization in India.
