Question
Write a short note on palindromes.

Answer

These are group of letters that form the same words when read both forward and backward. The palindrome in DNA is a sequence of base pairs that reads same as the two strands when orientation of reading is kept the same.
For example-
5'-GAATTC-3'
3'-CTTAAG-5'
It is important because the restriction enzymes recognises this palindromic sites and then cut the double stranded DNA a little away from the centre of this site.
