The Sun Temple of Modhera is presently situated in the Mehsana district of Gujart. It was built by Solanki King Bhimdev$-1$
A gem was studded on the crown of the idol of the Sun God.
The entrance gate on the custom side of this temple was constructed in such a way that the first ray of the sun would fall directly on the gem. This would light the entire sanctum of the temple and would create a divine atmosphere.
The temple contains Twelve different idols of Sun God.
The carving of this temple is done in Iranian style.
