- The demand for women's participation in all political decision making bodies up to the Parliament of the Panchayat as well as in the cooperative structure by involving women in their shaping and implementation in the decision making process means development in all fields like social, economic, political, cultural, religious in women empowerment.
- In 2001, the Government of India announced a National Policy on Women Empowerment. The objectives of this policy are as follows.
1. Environment: To create an environment through positive economic and social policy, in which women have the opportunity to introduce their own strengths and develop themselves in all respects.
2. Human Rights: Achieved by women at the same level of political, economic, social, cultural and civic status as men.

4. Effective Judiciary: Strengthen the justice process and work for the permanent elimination of all forms of discrimination against women.
