(a) Adam’s apple: The protruding part of the throat in boys is called Adam’s apple. It is the enlarged voice box. It makes the voice of boys hoarse.
(b) Secondary sexual characters: The characters which help to distinguish males from females are called secondaiy sexual characters. These characteristics can be hair on the chest, face and underarms, the development of breasts in girls, beards and moustaches in boys.
