  • Freedom of expression is an essential condition for the fullest development of every citizen in the country.

  • Right to freedom is to be exercised within the preview of ‘reasonable restrictions’ laid down in the constitution.
  • Right to freedom grants the following six freedoms to the citizens:
  • (1) Freedom of thought and expression that includes the freedom of press).
  • (2) Freedom of peaceful assembly without arms.
  • (3) Freedom to form associations.
  • (4) Freedom of movement throughout the country (except restricted places).
  • (5) Freedom to reside in any part of India,except Jammu and Kashmir.
  • (6) Freedom of vocation / profession.
