Dematrialisation of share is a procedure where shareholder transfer physical form of share certificate into electronic format. This includes certain expenditures such as expenditure on opening an account, maintaining the account and transaction charges. This expenditure can be divided into four parts:
(i) Account opening expenditure: Some bank charges fees for opening Demat account and some do not charge for it.
(ii) Annual Maintenance fees : An annual fee is charged to maintain Demat Account.
(lii) Custodian fees : Fees is levied from investors according to balance of share per month indemat account.
(iv) Transaction fees : Transfer fee is charged according to member of share transaction.
