Question
Write the specific symptoms of acquired immunity.

Answer

The specific symptoms of acquired immunity are as follows :
(1) Antigenic Specificity : It is specific for each pathogenic bacteria, virus and disease and by processing different pathogens in different ways, it destroys them specifically.
(2) Diversity : Amazing diversity is found in identifying many types of disease causing agents.
(3) Immunological Memory : Once an antigen is recognized by the immune system and an antibody response is shown against it, memory is established in the organism for that specific antigen. If there is a future re-infection with this specific antigen, the immune system response is more vigorous than the previous response due to immunological memory.
(4) Longevity : After the specific antibodies of a particular disease are produced, they provide long-term protection to a particular person from that particular disease. Because these antibodies remain in the body for a long period.
(5) Self and Non-self : This theory was propounded by Frank Macfarlane Benant. The acquired immunity system is capable of identifying foreign or foreign molecules and showing an immune response against them. On the other side our body does not show any response to the molecules present in it.
