A shopkeeper has one spherical laddoo of radius $5\ cm$. With the same amount of material, how many laddoos of radius $2.5\ cm$ can be made?

$\text{Number of ladoos}=\frac{\text{Volume of spherical ladoo of radius 5cm}}{\text{Volume of one spherical ladoo of radius 2.5cm}}$$=\frac{\frac{4}{3}\times\frac{22}{7}\times(5)^3}{\frac{4}{3}\times\frac{22}{7}\times\Big(\frac{5}{2}\Big)^3}=8$

How many square metres of canvas is required for a conical tent whose height is $3.5\ m$ and the radius of the base is $12\ m?$
Answer
Area of canvas required $=\pi\text{rl}$
$\text{l}=\sqrt{\text{r}^2+\text{h}^2}=\sqrt{(3.5)^2+(12)^2}$
$=\sqrt{12.25+144}=\sqrt{156.25}=12.5\text{m}$
$\therefore$ Area of canvas required $=\pi\text{rl}=\frac{22}{7}\times12\text{m}\times12.5\text{m}=471.42\text{m}^2$
