Define router as a network device.
Answer
View full question & answer→The router is a network device designed to take incoming packets, analyze the packets, move the packets to another network, convert the packets to another network interface, drop the packets, direct packets to the appropriate locations, etc. A router functions similarly to a bridge. However, unlike a bridge, a router passes data packets from one network to another network based on their IP addresses, not MAC addresses.
