A standard die is a cube marked with the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Find the sum of two numbers which are on the faces opposite to 6 and 2, respectively.

Therefore, the number opposite to 6
= 7 - 6
= 1
and the number opposite to 2 = 7- 2
= 5
$\therefore$ Required sum = 1 + 5 = 6
Therefore, the number opposite to 6
= 7 - 6
= 1
and the number opposite to 2 = 7- 2
= 5
$\therefore$ Required sum = 1 + 5 = 6
