In places where there is snowfall, the roofs are even more sloping so that the snow does not collect on them. but slides off easily. In Kashmir people live in houseboats and dongas. Tourists enjoy rides on Dal Lake in shikaras. Houseboats are usually large and remain stationary. Shikaras are small boats that move about. The nomadic tribes of the mountainous regions (the Changpas and the Bakarwals) use tents.
