Trees in their neighbourhood were Neem, Peepal, Sheesham, etc.
The indoor games they used to play during their youth were Table Tennis, Chess and Carrom Board.
Their favourite fruits were guava, mango, apple, etc.
During hot summers, they used to sit under the shade of trees and use fans for cooling. To stay comfortable during cold winters, they preferred to sit in the sun for warmth during the day and use charcoal fires at night.

The protection of our environment is very important because it provides the necessary conditions for life, such as clean air, fresh water and food resources.
Moreover, the environment plays a crucial role in regulating global climate and weather patterns and acts as a natural defense against natural disasters.

The shift from a barter system to a trade and commerce system was driven by the Industrial Revolution. With the coming up of mass production, there was a need for markets to exchange goods efficiently. As human requirements increased, a structured system of trade and commerce became essential as it enable goods to be readily available.

The environment consists of three main components
→ Natural components including land, water, air and living organisms.
→ Human-made components include buildings, parks, bridges, roads, monuments and industries.
→ Human components, such as individuals, religions, political situations, family, education, community and the economy.

Early humans adapted themselves to the natural surroundings. They lived simple lives and fulfilled their requirements from the natural surroundings.
Over time humans learnt new ways to use and change their environment. They learnt to grow crops, domesticate animals and lead a settled life.

The atmosphere is a thin layer of air enveloping the Earth. The roles of atmosphere are as follows
The atmosphere acts as a protective shield. It protects us from harmful solar radiation and extreme heat from the Sun.
Atmosphere consists of a mixture of gases, dust particles, and water vapour. Changes within the atmosphere result in changes in weather and climate patterns.

The lithosphere is the solid crust or hard top layer of the Earth. It is made up of rocks and minerals and covered by a thin layer of soil.
The lithosphere is characterised by diverse landforms, including mountains, plateaus, plains, valleys, and more.
Lithosphere serves various purposes, such as providing land for forests, grasslands, agriculture, human settlements, and is a source of mineral wealth.
