My partner and I were quite confident. In the first round, of course, the team of Sun Flower School went ahead with three points, but very soon, we bucked up and in the second and third round we could beat both the teams. We have a team of volunteers from different classes in our school who very often conduct such campaign as a part of social activity. This time the volunteers decided to go to a nearby village and create awareness about hazards of smoking. It was a Sunday and all the volunteers were in school uniform with ID card ready for the mission. We had booked a vehicle for transportation to the village. As we reached the village along with our teachers, the Sarpanch extended a warm welcome to all of us. After exchanging initial greetings we were taken to the village Panchayat office where a pandal was erected to accommodate the villagers who had come to witness the programme. After the customary introduction by the Sarpanch, the teacher took the mike to speak on the topic. We had taken with us some charts and hand outs to be distributed among the participants. It lasted for about an hour. Later there was also a question answer session. The Sarpanch had arranged snacks and tea for us. We had the food, thanked the Sarpanch for his cooperation in the event and returned back to the school. It was an interesting event and we learnt a lot from this event.

You are Kunj Prajapati, an NRI. Indian weddings are matchless in grandeur, glamour and luxury. They are matchless in wastage, extravagance and vulgar display of money and wealth. Record your experience of such marriages in your diary.[4]
Answer
$53$. Kunj's Dairy
$12$nd June, $2023$
Monday
Once I had gone for a wedding ceremony along with my parents. It was a wedding of one of the residents of our society. They had arranged it on a party plot with lots of grandeur, glamour, pomp and show. They had spent a lot on decoration, food, music, clothes and other sundry items. There were various stalls of fast food, main course, dessert and other eatables. I felt that this extravagance leads to a lot of waste of food and wealth.
In such a situation the people also used to throw away a lot of left over in their plates because no matter whatever was on the platter. Most of the times the people do this as a part of mere imitation. Each one wants to show that they are superior to other in terms of wealth and extravagance. Why can't we resort to simple weddings and use the money thus saved for some better cause of the married couple? Why can't the people use this money in a way that will be helpful to the couple in the years to come? I pray to the Almighty that he gives some wisdom to the people so that they stop this extravagance and show of their wealth.

When I reached school I found principal on the gate punishing late comers. I was made to run $400 m$ as punishment. Finally I was in the class thinking the, bad was over but the worst was yet to come. During mathematics lecture teacher demanded homework notebook and I forgot it. Again I got punished and made to stand outside the class. During recess I slipped from the stairs and hurt my elbow so could not participate in basket ball match during sports period of the school. Finally after finishing the school when I reached the bicycle repair shop I found it locked. I had no enough money in my pocket to hire another auto so I walked all the way to the home.

You were one of the volunteers in the Howdy Modi Campaign at USA. Prepare a Diary entry on the same.
Answer
Howdy Modi Campaign at USA
On September $21$, Prime Minister Narendra Modi faced a $50,000$ – strong crowd of Indian Americans in Houston, Texas, with US President Donald Trump by his side. This was the largest- ever gathering of the Indian-origin diaspora addressed by Modi and Trump.Deafening drums marked the entrance of Donald Trump and Indian prime minister Narendra Modi as they clasped hands and walked across the stage in a packed Texas Stadium on Sunday, sending a message of unity between the world’s two largest democracies despite trade tensions.
It was a rousing endorsement of Modi from a US immigrant group. It was unprecedented. The huge crowds of supporters overseas help reaffirm Modi’s support at home and offer a jab at his detractors. Modi talked a lot about the achievements of his present government (BJP) and about his good governance.
Trump highlighted the growth of US exports to India, the billions of dollars spent by India on US-made defence equipment and joint military exercises with New Delhi. Both leaders spoke on counter-terrorism.
For President Trump, whose campaign for re-election in $2020$ is already in full swing, Howdy |Modi was a golden opportunity to woo a vital segment of American voters, the vast majority of whom had voted his Democratic opponent the last time around. Trump had every reason to make good use of that opportunity and hope to convert Modi’s popularity among the Indian American community into support for himself, by paying handsome tribute to India and its leader.

Answer
Visit to Home for the Aged
Dakox January $10$
‘Aadhar’ is a home of comfort for the old and the aged. Our visit there was an unforgettable lesson. The twenty-nine old people of the Ashram were above the age of sixty-five. The social workers and nurses working in the Ashram were like angels of mercy to these old and destitute people. We spoke to each and every person. We shared snacks and refreshments with them. We sang songs with them. Some of the stories they told us were so pathetic that many of us were on the verge of crying. Imagine being thrown out into the street by your own children! Yet this was the actual fate of some of the persons. The care shown to them by the nurses at the Ashram was indeed inspiring. It was very clear that our l visit made the persons very happy.

Answer
Tarun/Tamana's Diary
Happy Moments of a sister’s marriage
$3$d October $20$
Dear Diary,
My elder sister got married yesterday. I just can't believe she is not in the room next to mine. Yesterday was her day. She looked gorgeous in her marriage trousseau. She was the cynosure to mine of all eyes, her makeup highlighted her good features and the mehndi looked elegant. I was happy to see my new brother-in-law dote on her lovingly all through the ceremony. Her in-laws were jubilant throughout the functions.
My parents breathed a sigh of relief. All the guests were gorging on the tasty dishes. I could see my parents wipe off some tears. They were happy but we were going to miss our Daksha at all costs. When the time came to see her off, we were tight lipped but smiling. Her mother in-law did the sweetest thing; she told mom that she was taking a daughter home. We were relieved and happy.

Answer
Meena Sharma's Diary
September $1", 2019$
Dear Diary,
Today was a day full of surprises. I met my old school friend Anita after many years. I chanced upon her at the 'Big Bazaar' shopping plaza, where I had gone to pick up groceries for the next week. As I paid my bill, I saw a familiar-looking face staring at me with curiosity. Suddenly, it dawned simultaneously on both of us that each of us was staring at a long lost dear friend. Our joy knew no bounds as we rushed towards each other.
A wave of nostalgia swept over us as we recalled our bygone days over a cup of coffee. How beautiful were those school days full of fun, laughter and mischief! Time stood still as we walked down the memory lane hand-in-hand. We parted after promising to remain in touch with each other.

You witnessed a tree plantation programme held by in school. Make a diary entry on it.
Answer
Sheela's Diary
Tree Plantation Programme in School
$25$th June $20$
Dear Diary
It was heartening to find out that our school doesn't just believe in teaching students from books about topics that touch us in our daily lives. We learn about the campaign 'Grow more trees' but our school has really taught us to practically do so. Each class was given a sapling to plant and we took an oath to nurture it till it grew up. We had a quiz competition to identify the different types of trees and their leaves.
Students composed poems and songs about trees. It was a beautiful moment as we realised we were giving life to the ground. I hope that other schools also follow the same pattern. I can imagine these saplings growing into huge shady trees which will provide us with tons of oxygen that we desperately need. The trees will also help to absorb the noise that we create in the school. They will stop soil erosion and increase the ground water in our area.
I can never forget these lines:-
Trees are truly great
They stand in the sun and give us shade
They eat just manure but give us sweet fruit.

Write in your diary, your experience and feelings after visiting a cancer hospital.
Answer
Neel's Diary
What a touching Day!
$16$ July, $2019$
Dear Diary,
With a heavy heart, I have to pen these lines: We have wishes and dreams which we hope to fulfill in our lifetime. A cancer patient just wishes that life gives him some more time.
A visit to the city's cancer hospital was so touching that I don't know what to say. People were patiently waiting there for their call from God as their pain and suffering was unending. I went there as a part of our social work from school. Most of the patients were terminally ill. There was no hope for them. The doctors and nurses were continuously administering medicines to them. However, many of them had taken their illness in their stride. Some of them had themselves to blame for bad habits like chewing and smoking tobacco while others were unlucky to have got into the trap of the disease. We talked to them gave them some gifts. We could hardly do anything to ease their pain but we could see the twinkle in the eye that they were happy to meet us. Many had no relatives to attend to them. They were happy to see us. One of them informed us. We count the patients who die around us. They are wasted like the trees of the leaves in autumn. I said a small prayer to God to give them the strength to bear their suffering

Suppose you are Kiran/Karan Trivedi. Last week you went to a religious place in an overcrowded bus. Make an entry of the experience of your journey in your diary.
Answer
Travelling in an overcrowded bus
$14$ April, $2019$
Dear Diary,
Last Saturday, I visited a religious place by a state transport bus. There wasn't a single seat available so all I could do was find myself with a bunch of other standing passengers on the aisle. The conductor seemed to be a good-hearted guy for the wrong reasons. He kept loading people on to the bus and we were packed like sardines, not able to move a leg or even breathe properly. It was a hot summer day.
When the bus came to a halt, many passengers had to get down to help the passengers get off the bus and then climb in again. I was standing for almost an hour sandwiched between a fat lady and an old man who was almost leaning on me for support. The driver was in his element, he took the curves and bends pretty sharply sending us all for a toss. I was relieved when my stop came, with difficulty; I alighted from the bus and stood for a few seconds to get back my composure before going ahead on foot to the remaining part of my destination.

Answer
Burglars at home!!!
$15$ July, $2019$
$8$. Pm
Dear Diary,
Yesterday was a harrowing day. I was alone at home. Since my parents were visiting some relatives. I had to stay behind to study for my examination. As I sat brooding about what my mathematics paper would be like the next day, my reverie was disrupted when I heard my mother's crystal vase crash to the ground. I decided to investigate. An eerie shadow on the carpet warned me of someone else present in the house. I stood rooted to the spot unable to move my limbs which seemed like lead. A chill ran down my spine as I saw the shadow come close. I bolted the bedroom door, locking it as fast as I could and yelled at top of my voice the burglar, frightened out of his wits ran for his life. But before he could escape, he was caught by the watchman and the neighbours who had gathered at the gate, on hearing my screams. I surely deserved the pat on the back I received from the parents when they returned.

Dear Diary
Today was an exceptional day as my school gave me the Best Student Award. While all parents were seated in the auditorium the Principal gave a very heart-warming speech congratulating all the students who had done well as sports people. Then the prizes for the education excellence were given. I was a little taken aback as my name was not called out. After all the prizes were given out, the principal stood up and went to say that he wanted to now congratulate a student who had done well both in studies and sports and called out my name. I was so happy. I almost ran to the stage. The Principal also informed that it has been almost a decade since a student has won this award. I received a standing ovation from all teachers and students. As the list of subjects and sports events were being announced for which I was being honoured I felt so grateful. I bowed down to the audience and touched the feet of my principal. He gave me a warm hug and asked me to keep it up. I think this was one of the best days of my life. My parents were overjoyed. Dad got a photographer to click some photos and mailed them to our relatives. My neighbours and friends organised a party. I didn't want the day to end without penning a few lines. So here it is a day 1 will remember for life!!!! Am going to sleep with some good dreams. Good night and hope you enjoyed what I wrote for you.

You have witnessed the descent of Vikram lander of Mission Chandrayaan – 2 on 6-7 September 2019. Make diary entries based on it.
Answer
Mission Chandrayaan – 2
India’s space agency lost contact with the Vikram lander around $2.1 \ km$ over the lunar surface, in a setback to the country’s maiden attempt to land a spacecraft on the moon’s surface.
As the lander began the $15$-minute autonomous descent, it overcame a major hurdle of what is called as the rough breaking phase to go down from a height of $30 \ kms$ to around $2.1 \ kms$. Soon after, the lander lost contact with the ground station.
However, the orbiter, which has several instruments onboard continues to hover around $100 \ kms$ over the moon.
As the graphs deviated on the screens at the control centre in Bengaluru, Isro chairman K Sivan went into a huddle with other scientists including former chairman Kiran Kumar to understand what could have caused the blip. Sivan had called it “$15$ minutes of terror” due to the uncertainty and the inability of the ground station to take control of the spacecraft during the descent.
Sivan soon went to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had arrived to witness the descent and rolling of the rover, to convey that the communication was lost with the spacecraft.
Modi asked Sivan to be courageous, while Sivan’s former boss K Kasturirangan & K Vijayraghavan, Principal Scientific Adviser to the government consoled the Isro chairman.

Dakox January 10

You are Arya/Aryan. You accompanied your parents to the old city market for Diwali shopping. Prepare a diary entry of your experience on the same.
Answer
18 April 2023,

Friday,

Time: 10:30 am.

Dear Diary,

Today I want to pen down some of my happiest moments with you.

This Diwali, I was very excited as I went for Diwali shopping with my cousins. In the morning after breakfast, we made a list for the Diwali celebration. The list included bursting crackers, colourful fireworks etc. My mother also went to the market with some of our neighbours to buy the earthen lamps and candles, glittering lights for house decoration and in the evening, my mother decorated our balcony and terrace with those earthen oil lamps.

Different shapes of earthen oil lamps created a very aesthetic environment with lamps. Then we also accompanied her to decorate the entire house with the chain of glittering lights. While we completed the entire house decoration, we all gathered on the terrace of our building and started to lit different types of crackers and fireworks. After three hours of enjoyment on the terrace, mother called us for dinner. And with delicious mutton biriyani, we all enjoyed a very joyful family get together at Diwali.

Imagine that you just returned after attending your cousin's wedding. Make a diary entry of the food served, the music played and the fun you had.
Answer

Cousin’s Wedding Celebration

Jodhpur, November 22

What an amazing time I had at my cousin Riya’s wedding! I just got back home, and I’m still full of excitement. The wedding was grand and beautifully organized. The decorations were colourful, the lights were sparkling, and everything felt magical.

The food was simply delicious! There were so many dishes — from Rajasthani dal-baati churma to Chinese noodles, chaat, sweets like gulab jamun and jalebi, and even live counters for pasta and ice cream. I must have eaten more than I should, but it was all so tempting!

The music was loud and energetic. The DJ played the latest Bollywood songs and traditional wedding music too. We danced non-stop during the sangeet and baraat. I even got compliments on my dance moves! All the cousins clicked photos, made reels, and laughed together till late at night.

It was not just a wedding, but a festival of love, joy, and togetherness. I’ll remember this celebration forever. I already miss everyone and wish we could relive it all over again!
