Question 15 Marks
Explain the measures to conserve bio-diversity.
Answer
Only biodiversity can enrich human life.
The most important thing is to cultivate a society of micro-organisms, flora and fauna and environment for the protection of the biodiversity of our planet.
The biodiversity above all ecosystems is endangered by just one species and that is human.
When it comes to conserving biodiversity, we must do it together.
Local species of trees should be grown and nurtured to increase the number of endangered species such as birds, butterflies and insects.
A committee should be formed to create awareness about local biodiversity.
We will grow local vegetables as well as promote local fruit growers.
Animal products should be avoided until they are used.
We will use and promote renewable energy like wind energy, solar energy.
An eco club should be set up at the school level.
We will visit the nearest forest department or an organization working on biodiversity or forest awareness centers as well as participate in various activities in association with this organization.

Question 35 Marks
Explain the ecosystem in details.
Answer
Soil, aquatic, atmospheric, and biodiversity combine to form the Earth's ecosystem.
The ecosystem extends to an altitude of about 26 km above the earth's surface.
About 9 km above sea level. Most of the ecosystem lies at depth.
It contains many species of fish, sharks, whales, octopuses and marine flora.
The ecosystem extends to a depth of several meters below the surface.
In nature, biological elements such as animals or plants and micro-organisms combine intricately with inanimate elements such as animals, gases, soil, light, etc. to form a self-governing system called an ecosystem.
The two main types of ecosystems are as follows.
$(1)$ Terrestrial ecosystem $(2)$ Aquatic ecosystem.

The terrestrial ecosystem includes grasslands, semi-arid regions, deserts, islands, etc.
Aquatic ecosystems include lakes, ponds, wetlands, rivers and river mouths, seas, etc.
Energy flow in the ecosystem:
Every ecosystem has many interrelated structures.
Ecosystems are regulated by the water cycle, the carbon cycle, the oxygen cycle, the nitrogen cycle, the energy cycle, and so on.
However, the biological and inorganic characteristics of each habitat are different.
The functions of ecosystems are somehow related to the growth and regeneration of plant and animal species.
These mutually integrated processes can be described as different cycles.
All these processes are based on the energy received from sunlight.
During photosynthesis, plants absorb carbon dioxide from the air and release oxygen into the air.
Animals use oxygen in respiration.
The water cycle depends on aquatic life.
Which is indispensable for plants as well as animals.
The energy cycle re-mixes soil nutrients into the soil.
On the basis of which the plant grows.
Every organism is fully involved with the proper functioning of these organisms.
