Question 14 Marks

एकदा जनसभायां भोजेन उद्घोषितम्- यदि कश्चित् जनः भस्मना रज्जुं निर्माय मह्यं दास्यति, तर्हि अहं तस्मै रूप्यकाणां सहस्रं प्रदास्यामीति ।
राज्ञः उद्घोषं श्रुत्वा सर्वे नागरिकाः जनाः भस्मना रज्जुं निर्मातुं प्रयत्नरताः सञ्जाताः ।
प्रायः सर्वेषां जनानामयम् अनुभवः वर्तते, यत् कस्यचित् पदार्थस्य निर्माणाय पदार्थाः, पद्धतिज्ञानं, पुरुषार्थश्चेति वस्तुत्रयम् अपेक्षितं भवति। यदि कारणभूताः पदार्थाः न सन्ति, कस्यापि नवीनस्य पदार्थस्य निर्माणं कर्तुं न शक्यते। सत्सु कारणभूतेषु पदार्थेषु अपि यदि निर्माणस्य पद्धतिः नावगता, तदापि पदार्थस्य निर्माणं कर्तुं न पारयामः। पदार्थाः उपस्थिताः स्युः, निर्माणरीतिः अपि अवगता स्यात्तथापि यावत्पर्यन्तं जनः पुरुषार्थं न करोति, तावत्पर्यन्तं सः नवीनस्य पदार्थस्य निर्माणं कर्तुं समर्थो न भवतीति।

Answer

Once king Bhoja announced in his court whoever makes a rope of ash, I will give him one thousand rupees as reward.
Hearing the announcement made by the king, all people started attempts to make rope of ash.
Mostly all people know that three things-material, method and efforts are necessary to make anything. If necessary things are not available, it is not possible to make a new thing. Even if necessary things are available, without the knowledge of Inspite of having necessary materials and the knowledge of making thing a person does not succeed in making it until he puts efforts.

Question 24 Marks

नगरस्य प्रत्येकं जनः स्वकीयेन उपर्युक्तेनानुभवेन प्रथमं रज्जुनिर्माणे आवश्यकानां भस्मजलादीनां पदार्थानाम् एकत्रीकरणे प्रवृत्तः । ततो गोधूमचूर्णेन रोटिकायाः निर्माणस्य यादृशी पद्धतिः तेनावगता आसीत् तया पद्धत्या रज्जुनिर्माणे प्रचण्डेन पुरुषार्थेन उद्यतः जातः । कृतेनापि बहुना प्रयत्नेन भस्म रज्जुरूपतां न प्राप्तम्। यतो हि जलार्द्र भस्म रज्जुरूपताप्रदानकाले विशीर्णं सत् रज्जुरूपं न साधयति स्म। निखिलो दिवस एवमेव व्यर्थः व्यतीतः । परिणामतः भस्मना प्रणीतां रज्जुम् अवलोकयितुकामः राजा नैराश्यमभजत ।।
अपरस्मिन् दिवसे राजसभायां राजा कालिदासाय न्यवेदयत्, भवानेव साधयतु भस्मना रज्जुः इति ।

Answer

Every citizen of the town started collecting material like ash, water etc. for making rope. Then they engaged in making rope the way roties are made with wheat flour. Even after lot of efforts, they could not transform ash into rope, because the ash, wet with water scattered and could not be shaped into rope. They attempted whole day but of no use. So the king was disappointed.
The next day, the king said to Kalidasa in his court, "You make rope from ash."

Question 34 Marks

कालिदासः सद्यः एव रज्जुं साधयितुं प्रयत्नपरोऽभवत्। तेन पूर्वं रज्जुः समानीता। ततः तेन सा रज्जुः स्थालिकायां स्थापिता। स्थालिकायां स्थापितायां रज्जौ कालिदासः अग्निं प्राक्षिपत्। स्थालिकायां स्थिता रज्जुः यथा यथा अग्निमयी जाता तथा तथा भस्मत्वेन परिणमिता। एवं कालिदासेन भस्मना रज्जुः निर्मिता। प्रशान्ते अग्नौ स्थालिकास्थितां भस्मभूतां रज्जुं कालिदासः राज्ञे भोजाय अदर्शयत्। राजा प्रसन्नो भूत्वा कालिदासाय रूप्यकाणां सहस्रं ददौ। पुरस्कारेण प्रसन्नवदनः कालिदासः उपस्थितान् जनान् प्रत्यवोचत् -
प्रवाहपतितो लोकः प्रवाहमनुसेवते । सेवमानः प्रवाहं तं कार्यं साधयते मुदा ॥
वैचित्र्यादस्य विश्वस्य प्रवाहे सेवितेऽपि वा। कार्यसाधनवेलायां मानवः निष्फलो भवेत् ॥
मामिवानुसरन्प्राज्ञो विरुद्धं मन्त्रयेत् क्वचित्। भस्म भवतु नो रज्जुः रज्जुर्भस्म भवत्विति ॥

Answer

Kalidasa immediately enagaged himself in making rope. He brought a rope then placed it in a plate. Kalidasa kindled it. The rope started burning and turned into ash. In this manner, Kalidasa made a "rope" of ash. When the fire got extinguished, Kalidasa showed the rope of ash to the king Bhoja. The king became happy and gave one thousand ruppes to Kalidasa. He was pleased after receiving the reward and said to the people present there. "The people fallen in current follow traditions and accomplish their task. But due to the strangeness in the world, people often get failure while following the traditions."
The learned people should follow my method also. If ash can not be turned into rope then convert the rope into ash.
