The picture alongside shows some squares. Find out how many squares with the same measures will fit in the empty space in the figure.

breadth of the empty space = 3 – 1 = 2 cm
square in empty space
= length x breadth
= 3 x 2 = 6 sq.cm.
breadth of the empty space = 3 – 1 = 2 cm
square in empty space
= length x breadth
= 3 x 2 = 6 sq.cm.
∴ 6 squares will fit in the empty space in the figure
