Answer

$\lambda=80\text{pm},$

$\text{E}=\frac{\text{hc}}{\lambda}$

$=\frac{1242}{80\times10^{-3}}$

$=15.525\times10^3\text{eV}=15.5\text{KeV}$

Can X-rays be polarized?

Answer

Only transverse waves can be polarized. Since an X-ray is a transverse wave, it can be polarized.

Can a hydrogen atom emit characteristic X-rays?

Answer

The difference of energy levels in a hydrogen atom is small. Hence, it is not able to emit characteristic X-rays.
