Importance of Forests/Trees
Trees are the valuable gift of God to Man. Trees give life to men and animals. We get many things from forests. We get wood. It is used to make furniture and other things. It gives us fuel to burn. We get fruits and medicines also. Many kinds of animals and : birds live in forests.
Forests give fodder for animals. Forests attract clouds which cause rain. Trees prevent soil erosion also. Trees give out oxygen to us. They purify air. They help us to solve our problem of air pollution. Many industries depend on forests. Paper industry, match industry, rubber industry depend on trees. They give employment to people. So we should grow more and more trees and protect them.

The Game I Play Or My
Favourite Game
The playing of games keeps the body of a man fit. I also play games. But I like to play volleyball more than any other game. This game is neither risky nor very expensive. It gives plenty of body movement and exercise to the body. It keeps every part of the body active.
It keeps me fit both physically and mentally. Like all other games, this game also creates a feeling of brotherhood and oneness. This game is played by six players on each side. This game keeps my interest alive in games. It is a very simple game. So it is getting popular in village schools. It is my favourite game.

A Visit to A Zoo
A zoo is a place where many kinds of birds and animals are kept. The zoo is in the Public Park. I went there when I was a student of VII class. I went there with the class-teacher and other class fellows. We stayed there for about four hours. I saw there lions, tigers, monkeys, wolves, deer and other animals. They were living in cages.
Lions and tigers were eating meat. Some animals were eating grass, vegetables and fruits. I saw that some monkeys were jumping here and there. I threw some groundnuts in the cage. All the four monkeys ran to them. They quarrelled to take them. I liked monkeys and lions very much We should not tease them. We should be kind to animals.

My School
I read in Sharda Secondary School. It is situated in Nehru Nagar, Jaipur, Its building is very fine. We say our prayer in a hall. Our school staff is good. Our teachers are very polite. They teach us in a proper method. There are 500 students in our school
There are 15 rooms in our school. All the classrooms have good facilities. There is a playground near our school building. Our Headmaster is Shri M.K. Sharma. Our classteacher is Shri S.K. Singh. The atmosphere of our school is very pleaceful. I can say that my school is an ideal one.

My First Day in School
My school reopened on 1 July. I went to school. Students were standing in groups. They were talking with one another. The bell rang. We went into our classrooms. A teacher arrived. He wrote our names in the register. He dictated us the names of the books.
After 40 minutes a bell rang. Again a teacher came. He told us the names of the books. After the fourth period there was an interval. After the interval teaching started again. After the seventh period, a long bell rang. The school was over. I came to my house. I was happy...

A Scene at the Railway Platform
Last Monday I went to the railway station to receive my friend. I purchased a platform ticket and went there. There were many men and women. Some children were playing, some were crying and some were weeping. There were some benches. Some passengers were sitting there. Some passengers were sitting near their luggage.
There were some hawkers and vendors. They were selling many things. There were some stalls also. Some people were taking tea. After an hour the train arrived. Some passengers were trying to get down and many passengers were trying to get in. There was much noise. Vendors were crying. I received my friend and came home.

My Hobby
There are many kinds of hobbies. Hobbies give pleasure to everyone. Gardening is my hobby. It is a useful hobby for me. There is a piece of land behind my house. This is my mini garden. I get up early in the morning. I work in the garden. In this way I get fresh air and light exercise.
It keeps me healthy and fresh. There are flower plants in my garden. The flowers look very beautiful. I grow vegetables also. We get fresh vegetables free of cost. Sometimes we give vegetables to our neighbours. They feel obliged. My mother takes the flowers to the temple. My father helps me on every Sunday. My younger sister plays there in the evening. I feel happy to see my garden.

A Picnic
A picnic is a change in our daily life. It was Sunday. The weather was very fine. There were clouds in the sky. Our friends decided to go for a picnic near the canal. We went to market. We purchased sweets, biscuits, fruits, namkin etc. We started on our bicycles. We reached the canal. We took rest for some time. We prepared tea. We played 'kabaddi' for about an hour. We bathed in the canal. We were hungry. We. took food together. We sang songs. In the evening we returned home. We were happy.

My Best Friend
There is a saying, 'A friend in need is a friend indeed.' Man is a social being. He needs friends for his social development. Anil is my best friend. He comes regularly to school. He is a simple boy. He is not proud. He respects his teachers. The teachers love him.
His nature is very good. He has no bad habits. He helps everyone. He is very honest. He is a good player of football. He plays football in the evening. He is a good speaker. He has won many prizes. Last month I was ill. He daily came to see me. He helps me very much. He is very faithful to me.

The Independence Day in Our School
15 August is a very important day in the history of India. India got freedom on this day. It is our Independence day. It is celebrated all over the country. It is celebrated in our school also. We reached the school at 7 a.m. The Headmaster unfurled the national flag at 7.30 a.m. All the audience clapped. All the audience sang the national anthem. The headmaster, some students and some teachers made speeches. In the end sweets were distributed among the students. We were very happy.

My Village
I live in a small village. About two thousand people live in it. Most of the people are farmers. They work hard from morning till evening. They are very simple. Women also work hard. They bring water from the wells. They cook food. They bring fire-wood from the forest.
There are two shop-keepers. They keep cheap things. They sell everything. There is a temple outside the village. Many people go there in the morning and in the evening. There is a primary school. Some boys go there. There is a post-office. There is no hospital. The people are poor but happy (satisfied).

Holi
There are many festivals. Holi is an important festival of the Hindus. It is also called The Festival of Colours'. It comes at the end of the spring season. In the evening, wood and cowdung cakes are collected at some crossroads. They are burnt. It is said the Prahlad was saved on this day. It is a festival of joy and colour.
Boys and girls, men and women, old and young everyone looks happy. They sprinkle coloured water on each other. They smear coloured-powder on the faces of each other. They embrace each other. But these days, some bad events happen on this day. Some people throw dirty water. They abuse. So there are some quarrels. It is bad.

An Accident
Once I was going to my uncle's house. I saw that a car was coming fast. The road was wet because of rains. A girl was crossing the road. There was a red traffic light. The car driver ignored it. The car crossed it. The girl was hurt. Many people gathered there. The girl was rushed to hospital.
The doctors examined her carefully. Her hand was broken. Someone informed the parents of the girl. They came to the hospital to see their daughter. They reported the matter to the police. Six policemen came there. The girl told them the number of the car. The car driver was arrested. One should never cross the road when the traffic signal is red.

A Great National Leader
Mahatma Gandhi was a great leader of India. We call him 'The Father of the Nation' in honour. He was born on 2 October, 1869 at Porbander in Gujarat. His father was a Diwan. His mother was a religious lady. He was sent to school at the age of seven. He went to England to study law. He went to South Africa also. At that time India was a slave of the English.
He joined Indian National Congress. He tried hard to make India free. He started many movements. He was sent to jail many times. On 15 August, 1947 India | got freedom. On 30 January, 1948 he was shot dead by Nathuram Godsey. The whole country was sad (shocked).

Deepawali
Many festivals are celebrated in India. Deepawali is a very important festival of the Hindus. It is a festival of lights. It falls in the month of 'Kartik'. On this day Shri Ramchandra returned Ayodhya after killing Ravana. So we celebrate it. It is a victory of light over darkness.
People clean and whitewash their houses and shops. They decorate them. Men and women, boys and girls, old and young, everyone is happy. People purchase sweets, toys, crackers and many other things. Ladies prepare special food. All the members of the family eat together. At night people worship Lakshmi the goddess of wealth.

Rain Water Harvesting
Rain water harvesting is the crying need of the day. It is said that if the Third World War is to be fought, it will be fought for water. The huge quantity of the rain water goes down the drain every year. Every home, every village, every city should have rain water harvesting system.
It saves us from floods. It saves bays, seas and oceans from overflowing. It maintains the ground water level. In desert area, it makes available the precious water round the year. It can be used for irrigation, too. Thus, the harvesting of the rain water is the immediate need of the hour.

A Camp
Our school organised a camp last week. The Principal appointed a camp-incharge. The camp incharge made all the preparations. He decided the place for the camp after consultation with concerned people. The place was near the lake forest. Campers reached there by bus.
After reaching there, the site was cleaned properly. Then, the tent was pitched as per need. The campers gave their contribution in cooking food. The first-aid box was also kept ready. In the evening the camp-fire was organised. The songs were sung. The dances were performed. It was a very entertaining camp.

My Favourite Teacher
I read at Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Sanganer. There are about seventy teachers. Ms. Seema Soni is my favourite teacher. She is 33 years old. She teaches us English. Her method of teaching is very effective. Students learn the topic easily. Their ability to read, speak and write English correctly grows more.
She is punctual. She knows the value of time. She is very sensitive by nature. She is kind too. She is a good player of Badminton. She has won prizes at the state and national level. She helps poor students. She guides me in my difficulties. She is a disciplined and hard-working teacher. I like her very much.

An Annual Function
An Annual Function was held in my school last year on 21 February. It was held at the school auditorium. The district collector was the Chief Guest. The function began with 'Saraswati Vandana'. Then, the Principal welcomed the Chief Guest and the other guests with garlands.
Next, Ghoomer dance was presented by the girl students. The physical movements of the dancers attracted everyone. Afterward, Maa Tujhe Salaam, an action patriotic group song was displayed. The actions of the singers charmed the viewers.
Further, a drama on the benefits of the modern technology was staged. Viewers were excited to watch it. Later, the prizes were given away to the students. I got a trophy for action song. The Principal thanked all.

Clean India Mission :
Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modiji, commenced the 'Clean India Mission on Gandhi Jayanti in 2014. From 26 September to 2 October, this mission was undertaken as "Panchayat Week'. Under this mission India is to be made clean and dirt free. Every citizen must devote two hours a week to community cleanliness.
According to the W.H.O. report 2014, every Indian has to expend Rs. 6500 annually for his/her medical treatment. The Modi government is to construct 11.11 crore toilets across the country. Every Village Panchayat is to be given annual grant of Rs. 20 lac for this purpose.

A Visit to a Fair :
Last Sunday I went to visit the Dussehra Fair of our city with my friends. We reached the fair site by bus. There were many shops. Sweet shops had ladoos, jalebies, gulabjamuns, etc.; Namkeen shops had potato chips, samosas, etc.
There were utensil shops, cloth shops, toy shops etc. There were a large number of people. There was a great noise. People were enjoying with merry-gorounds, swings, circus, magic shows, etc. People looked cheerful. There were enjoyable sights. We returned home in the evening.

Educational Tour
Our school organized an 'Educational Tour to Agra last week. I was also the part of it. We reached there by bus. We bought tickets. I saw the Taj Mahal. It is a beautiful building. It is made of white marble. Shahjahan got it built in the memory of Mumtajmahal.
After: visiting the Tajmahal, we had breakfast. I thought about the Taj Mahal. Actually it is a grave of Mumtaj-mahal. There are gardens too, Cleanliness was seen everywhere. A number of domestic and foreign tourists were there. We returned in the evening. was happy.
