Question 25 Marks
Find the length of each side of a square whose area is equal to the area of a rectangle of length $13.6$ metres and breadth $3.4$ metres.
Answer
Area of rectangle =$(13.6 \times 3.4) m ^4$
=$46.24 m^2$
= Area of square
Length of each side of the square $=\sqrt{46.24}\text{m}$
$\begin{array}{c|c} &6.8 \\ \hline 6 &\overline{46}.\ \overline{24}\\& -36\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \\ \hline128 &1024\ \\ &-1024\ \ \ \ \\ \hline &\times \end{array}$
