(1) The Constitution of India has granted the Right against exploitation to every citizen. (2) Employment of children in hazardous occupation was a form of exploitation. (3) The Indian Constitution prohibits employment of children below the age of 14 years in industries, mines and other hazardous occupation. (4) The prevention of Child Labour Act prohibits employment of children below the age of 14 years in other occupations as well. Therefore, child labour is a punishable offence.
