(a) Carrying Capacity : Carrying capacity can be defined as a species' average population size in a particular habitat. The species population size is limited by environmental factors like adequate food, shelter, water, and other resources. If these needs are not met, the population will decrease until the resource rebounds.
(b) Biotic Potential : Biotic potential is the maximum reproductive capacity of an organism under optimum environmental conditions. It is often expressed as a proportional or percentage increase per year, as in the statement "The human population increased by 3 percent last year." It can also be expressed as the time it takes for a population to double in size (doubling time).
(c) Growth Curve : The population growth curve represents the growth of the population over a span of time. This is an exponential growth curve.
