Question
Define: Functional group isomerism

Answer

Different compounds having the same molecular formula but different functional groups are called as futictional group isomers and the phenomenon is called as junctional group isomerism.
e.g. $CH_3 – O – CH_3 ($ Dimethyl ether $)$ and $C_2H_5 – OH ($ ethyl alcohol $)$ have same molecular formula $(C_2H_6O)$ but former has ether $(-O-)$ functional group and the latter has alcoholic $(-OH)$ functional group.
