Question
Define thermal efficiency of a heat engine.

Answer

The thermal efficiency, $\eta$ of a heat engine is defined $W$ as $\eta=\frac{W}{Q_H}$, where $W$ is the work done (output) by $Q_H$ the working substance and $Q_H$ is the amount of heat absorbed (input) by it.
[Note : $\eta$ has no unit and dimensions or its dimensions are $\left[ M ^{\circ} L ^{\circ} T ^{\circ}\right]$.]
