Asexual reproduction occurs without the fusion of gametes. The different methods are :
1. Binary fission: The parent organism divides into two identical individuals.
Example: Amoeba
2. Budding: A new organism develops as an outgrowth (bud) on the parent.
Example: Yeast
3. Spore formation: Spores are formed which grow into new organisms under suitable conditions.
Example: Rhizopus (bread mould)
4. Vegetative propagation: New plants grow from roots, stems, or leaves of the parent plant.
Example: Potato, Bryophyllum
