Differentiate between primary and secondary follicles:

It is the structure that is formed when the primary oocyte is surrounded by a layer of granulosa cells.
When the primary follicle becomes surrounded by more layers of granulosa cells and a thecal layer, it is called a secondary follicle.

Many primary follicles degenerate before puberty.
There is no degeneration of secondary follicles.
