In the first canto of the epic 'किरातार्जुनीयम्', Draupadi gets annoyed and disturbed due to miserable condition of the Pandavas. She insists that Yudhisthira should fight a war against Duryodhana instead of keeping sense of forgiveness. She rebukes Yudhisthira sweetly with utmost politeness and deep affection. Due to mental pain, she loses her patience and suggests Yudhisthira to fight war.
It is not appropriate for Draupadi to advise a skillful king like Yudhisthira but she is complelled to do so due to her mental pain.
She describes the necessity of anger to Yudhisthira.
She tells him that those who do not practice the policy of tit for tat are always defeated by enemies.

She believes that kings do not get any sort of achievement by maintaining peace. For them, chivalry is the only means to get achievement.
