Question
Evergreen forests are evergreen.

Answer

(i) Equatorial forests grow in the areas receiving the rainfall more than 200 cm. Hence there is abundant ground water available for trees to absorb.
(ii) Hence they do not shed leaves to stop transpiration. However in case of shedding the leaves, different trees shed their leaves and thus on the whole these forests look evergreen.
