Question
Explain how tidal energy can be used to generate electricity.

Answer

During high tide, when the level of water in the sea is high, sea-water flows into the reservoir of the barrage and turns the turbines. The turbines then turn the generator to produce the electricity. And during the low tide, when the level of sea-water is low, the sea-water stored in the barrage reservoir is allowed to flow out into the sea. This flowing water also turns the turbines and generates electricity.

An organic compound ‘X’ on heating with cone. $\text{H}_{2}\text{SO}_{4}$ forms a compound ‘Y’ which on addition of one molecule of hydrogen in the presence of nickel forms a compound ‘Z’. One molecule of compound ‘Z’ on combustion forms two molecules $\text{CO}_{2}$ of and three molecules of $\text{H}_{2}\text{O.}$ Identify giving reasons the compounds ‘X’, ‘Y’ and ‘Z’. Write the chemical equations for all the chemical reactions involved.
They are not correct. The father with blood group $A$ has genotype $\left.I^A\right|^0$. The mother with blood group $B$ has genotype $\left.I^B\right|^0$. Hence, the possible genotypes of the children will be $\left.\left.\right|^A\right|^B,\left.\left.\right|^A\right|^O,\left.I^B\right|^O$ and $\left.I^O\right|^{\circ}$. Thus, the possible blood groups of children will be $A B, A, B$ and $O$. Hence, if the father has blood group $A$, and the mother has blood group B, it is possible for them to have children with blood group O .
