Implantation is the process by which the zygote attaches to the uterus for development. It occurs at uterus.
The structure involved is placenta which is a disc shaped tissue with numerous villi.
Its main function is:
  • To transport oxygen and glucose from mother to foetus.
  • To transport excretary products from baby to mother's blood.
