Explain the factors that hinder attitudes to change.

(1) Prevalence of attitude:
  • The attitude that has been going on for a long time is very strong and strong.
  • So that it becomes difficult to change it quickly.
  • E.g. Attitudes like TV, mobile are very strongly connected in people's lives.
  • So that attitude doesn’t change quickly.
(2) Attitude complexity:
  • The process of mold formation is complex.
  • There are many factors behind its formation.
  • Attitudes are called complex attitudes.
  • So that the process of changing it is not effective.
  • E.g. Child marriage, dowry, is a complex attitude. In which despite many attempts the whole could not be freed from it.
(3) The importance of attitude:

  • So it is difficult to change such attitudes as they have a necessary or important place in life.
  • E.g. It is not possible for a person to break up a friendship with a negative attitude towards such a friend if his friend is very important in life and he is accompanied by a friend whenever he needs help in life.
(4) Interaction in attitude:
  • Some attitudes that are interrelated with each other cannot be independent due to the complexity of the attitudes.
  • So it is difficult to change the attitude that is interrelated with each other.
  • Here one attitude is going to change and the other attitude is becoming a hindrance so there is no change in attitude.
  • E.g. In order to bring about change in women's education, attitudes like patriarchal mindset, love marriage, divorce are becoming obstacles and women's education cannot be changed quickly.
(5) The usefulness of attitude:
  • Some person, thing, situation is very necessary in a person's life.
  • Which is useful to meet his other needs.
  • So attitudes do not change because of usefulness.
  • E.g. Religious leaders of any religion, political party, government or personally useful.
  • So even though there is a lot of other information about the religious leaders of such religions, people tend to express their views against them in public.
  • So such attitudes do not change quickly.
