Find discount in per cent when: $M.P. = Rs. 900$ and $S.P. = Rs. 873$

Marked price $(MP) = Rs. 900$
Selling price $(SP) = Rs. 873$
Discount = Marked price - Selling price $= Rs. 900 - Rs. 873 = Rs. 27$
$\text{Discount}\%=\frac{\text{Discount}}{\text{Marked price}}\times100$
$=\frac{27}{900}\times100=\frac{27}{9}=3\%$
