Area of given figure
$ =$Area of rectangle $\text{ABCH}+$Area $+$Area of square $\text{DEFG}$
$=A B \times B C+(D E)^2$
$=8 \ cm \times 3 \ cm +(3 \ cm)^2$
$=24 \ cm ^2+9 \ cm ^2$
$=33 \ cm ^2$
Perimeter of given figure
$ =A B+B C+C D+D E+E F+F G+G H+H A$
$=A B+B C+(C D+E F+G H)+D E+F G+H A$
$=8+3+8+3+3+3$
$=28 \ cm .$
