But $\angle 1=x$.......... (vertically opposite angles)
$ \therefore \mathrm{x}+4 \mathrm{x}=180^{\circ} $
$ \Rightarrow 5 \mathrm{x}=180^{\circ} $
$ \Rightarrow x=\frac{180^{\circ}}{5}=36^{\circ} $ Hence $x=36^{\circ}$
$\because$ Lines are parallel
$\therefore \angle 1+4 \mathrm{x}=180^{\circ}$........... (co-interior angles)
But $\angle 1=x$.......... (vertically opposite angles)
$ \therefore \mathrm{x}+4 \mathrm{x}=180^{\circ} $
