Unlimited and absolute freedom leads to anarchy. Reasonable restrictions are placed on freedom in every civilized society.
The Indian Constitution, too, had placed reasonable restrictions’ on the Right to Freedom for the following purposes (1) Sovereignty, territorial integrity and unity of the nation (2) Friendly relations with the other countries (3) Maintenance of law and order (4) Contempt of the court, promoting hatred defamation and morality (5) Incitement to violence. Thus, freedom cannot be unlimited or absolute.
