(i) Graphite is an allotrope of carbon.
(ii) In its structures, each carbons is attached to three other carbon atoms, forming a hexagonal plannar structure
(iii) These hexagonal rings form layer on one another. Thus, in graphite many free electrons move throughout the entire layers.
(iv) These free electrons help in conduction of electricity.
(v) Hence, graphite is a good conduction of electricity.
