  1. There is a general government for the entire country and governments at the provincial or regional level. The government for the entire country is usually called federal government. In India, it is called the central or state government.
  2. The governments at provincial or regional level are called by different names in different countries. In India, we call them State Governments.
  3. There are governments at local levels too. They are known as the municipality and panchayat.
