If ball A is released freely and simultaneously ball B is projected with a velocity u in the horizontal direction, then which ball will reach the earth first?

For both the balls, the initial velocity ( $u$ ) in the vertical direction is zero, the acceleration is the same and the distance travelled in the vertical direction is the same. Hence,$h =1 / 2 gt ^2$ will take equal time for both the balls to reach the earth's surface.
