Question
In exchange of a square plot one of whose sides is 84m, a man wants to buy a rectangular plot 144m long and of the same area as of the square plot. Find the width of the rectangular plot.

Answer

Side of a square plot $=84 m$
$\text { Area }=(a)^2=(84)^2=84 \times 84 m^2=7056 m^2$
Area of rectangular field $=7056 m^2$
Length $(I)=144 m$
$\therefore$ Breadth $=\frac{\text { Area }}{\text { Length }}=\frac{7056}{144}=49 m$
