The primary sex organs include testes and ovaries. They produce sperms and eggs respectively. They also release various hormones like testosterone (testes), progesterone and estrogens (ovaries). These hormones control the growth, function and maintenance of secondary sex organs. The testosterone controls growth and function of vas deferens, seminal vesicles and penis in males while estrogens control growth and functioning of the female secondary sex organs like development of growing follicles and mammary glands.
