Role/Function of a General Secretary: The general secretary looks after the following day to day activities of the company according to the direction of the Board of Director.
(1) Correspondance on behalf of the company : Various parties are related with the companies like shareholders, main customers, traders, debtors, creditors, government etc. Secretary does important correspondance.
(2) Issue of Shares and Debentures : According to the board of directors various types of share debentures bonds etc. are issue by the secretary.
(3) Work of Share allotment: To allocate the share application issue share to the share applicants, share transfer, to forfeit share for these who does not pay the call amount etc. work is being done by the secretary.
(4) Meeting related work: General Secretary does the work related to meeting like to issue notice for the general meeting of shareholders, to prepare its agenda and to maintain its minutes.
