Yes.
i. When $CaO$ dissolves in water it forms calcium hydroxide which is basic solution.
   $\mathrm{CaO}(\mathrm{~s})+\mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{O}(\mathrm{Z}) \rightarrow \mathrm{Ca}(\mathrm{OH})_2(\mathrm{ag})$
   Calcium hydroxide
ii. When $\mathrm{CO}_2(\mathrm{~g})$ dissolves in water it forms carbonic acid which is acidic solution.
    $\mathrm{CO}_2(\mathrm{~g})+\mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{O}(/) \rightarrow \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{CO}_3(\mathrm{ag})$
    Carbonic acid
