Solve equation using factorisation method:
$x^2 - 10x - 24 = 0$

Answer

$x^2 - 10x - 24 = 0$
$\Rightarrow x^2 - 12x + 2x - 24 = 0$
$\Rightarrow x(x - 12) + 2(x - 12) = 0$
$\Rightarrow (x -12) (x + 2) = 0$
Since $x - 12 = 0$ or $x + 2 = 0$
then $x = 12$ or $x = -2$
