Question
Solve the following equation: 2 (x - 3) – 3 (x - 4) =12

Answer

2 (x - 3) – 3 (x - 4) =12

⇒ 2x - 6 - 3x + 12 = 12

⇒ - x + 6 = 12

⇒ - x + 6 - 6 = 12 - 6  ...(Subtracting 6 from both sides)

⇒ - x = 6

⇒ x = - 6
