State the advantages and disadvantages of using solar cells.

Advantage of solar cell.
  1. They have no moving parts and require no maintenance.
  2. They can be set up in remote and inaccessible areas.
Disadvantage of solar cell.
  1. They are very expensive.
  2. They are less efficient. They can convert only about 25% of light falling on them into electricity.
  3. They cannot work during night time.
