a (a) Applying Kirchoff's law in following figure.
At junction $A$ :
$i + {i_1} + {i_2} = 1$ .... $(i)$
For Loop $(i)$
$ - \,60\,i + (15 + 5){i_1} = 0$
$==>$ ${i_1} = 3i$ ...$(ii)$
For loop $(2)$
$-(15 + 5) i_1 + 10 i_2 = 0$
$==>$ $i_2 = i_1 = (3 i) = 6i$
On solving equation $(i), (ii)$ and $(iii)$ we get $i$ =$ 0.1\, A$
Short Trick : Branch current $=$
$\,{\rm{main current }}\left( {\frac{{{\rm{Resistance \,of \,opposite\, branch}}}}{{{\rm{Total\, resistance}}}}} \right)$
$==>$ $i = 1 \times \left[ {\frac{{\frac{{20}}{3}}}{{\frac{{20}}{3} + 60}}} \right]$
$=$ $0.1\, A$

A resistance wire connected in the left gap of a meter bridge balances a $10\, \Omega$ resistance in the right gap at a point which divides the bridge wire in the ratio $3: 2 .$ If the length of the resistance wire is $1.5 m ,$ then the length of $1\, \Omega$ of the resistance wire is $....... \times 10^{-2}\;m$
In order to increase the resistance of a given wire of uniform cross section to four times its value, a fraction of its length is stretched uniformly till the full length of the wire becomes $\frac{3}{2}$ times the original length what is the value of this fraction?
The Wheatstone bridge shown in Fig. here, gets balanced when the carbon resistor used as $R_1$ has the colour code (Orange, Red, Brown). The resistors $R_2$ and $R_4$ are $80\, \Omega $ and $40\,\Omega $, respectively. Assuming that the colour code for the carbon resistors gives their accurate values, the colour code for the carbon resistor, used as $R_3$ would be
Three resistors each of $4\,\Omega $ are connected together to form a network. The equivalent resistance of the network cannot be ............ $\Omega$
The thermo $e.m.f.$ of a thermo-couple is $25\,\mu V{/^o}C$ at room temperature. A galvanometer of $40\, ohm$ resistance, capable of detecting current as low as ${10^{ - 5}}\,A,$ is connected with the thermocouple. The smallest temperature difference that can be detected by this system is ................ $^oC$
A heater $A$ gives out $300\, W$ of heat when connected to a $200\, V$ $d.c.$ supply. Asecond heater $B$ gives out $600\, W$ when connected to a $200\,v$ $d.c$. supply. If a series combination of the two heaters is connected to a $200\, V$ $d.c$. supply the heat output will be ................. $W$
Consider a $72\, cm$ long wire $AB$ as shown in the figure. The galvanometer jockey is placed at $P$ on $A B$ at a distance $x cm$ from $A$. The galvanometer shows zero deflection.
The value of $x,$ to the nearest integer, is ..... $cm$
