Question
Western Rajasthan receives very little rainfall. Explain.

Answer

(i) The SW monsoon winds blowing from the Arabian Sea run parallel to the Aravalli and hence do not get blocked and hence give little rain.
(ii) The Bay of Bengal Branch of SW monsoon winds get exhausted by the time they reach Rajasthan. They blow parallel to the Aravalli Hills.
